2012 FEDCO Group Order

It is that time of year again!!!

FEDCO Group Order time!

Each year, Rising Tide places a group order to Fedco.  Everyone is invited to participate!  You may order seeds, tubers, and growing supplies.

Seed orders receive a 20% discount;
there is no discount on tubers or growing supplies.

The entire order will be delivered to Rising Tide.

We will be placing our order fairly early this year so that it will arrive in time for people to start seedlings indoors.

The deadline for submitting your order to Rising Tide is

12:00 NOON Friday, February 3rd.

The seed and OGS orders should arrive around the end of February or first week of March.  Tubers will ship in April.

You can place your order either online or on paper, whichever is easier for you!

Ordering online:  Go to fedcoseeds.com & select which catalog you’d like to use (seeds, tubers or OGS).  There are search functions on the site, or you can enter item numbers from your catalog into the search box to easily find what you need.

  • When you’re done adding items, click on “checkout,” where you’ll be able to confirm that your selections are correct.
  • In the shipping area, click “part of a group.”
  • Proceed to “checkout securely,” where you’ll be prompted to enter our group order number:

            Seeds:  99032

            Growing supplies:  39012

            Tubers:  79012

We are listed as “Rising Tide Community Market.”  Once the group number is entered into your order, you will not need to input any payment information –
you’ll pay for your order when it arrives here at the store.

Also, please note that although the site asks for your address,
all orders will be delivered to Rising Tide.

Please be sure to enter the phone number by which you are  most easily accessible, as this is how we’ll contact you when your order(s) arrive.

You will receive an email confirmation of your order.

If using paper form, please read the directions on page 74 of FEDCO’s catalog.

Seeds, tubers and organic growers’ supplies must be ordered on separate forms.  Fill out the order forms, being sure that you include the catalog number, size code, quantity, and total dollar value for each item.  Total your order and add the appropriate sales tax.  This is called the Adjusted Total on the form.  Please DO NOT figure in your discount at this time, or fill in any of the boxes below the Adjusted Total.  Please print legibly and double-check your form for accuracy to ensure you receive the correct items.  Make sure that you list a phone number, as this is how we’ll contact you when your order(s) arrive.

General information:

All seeds are now taxable.  The 5% Maine sales tax applies to your entire order.  When your order arrives, we will subtract any out-of-stocks, apply the 20% discount to any seeds, and come up with a grand total.  You do not need to pay anything when you submit your order.  The total amount will be due when you pick it up.  Please read the information on page 3 of the catalog about backorders, and the substitution info on page 70.

We will call you as soon as the orders arrive at Rising Tide.  Because space is limited here at the co-op, we would appreciate it if you could pick up your order as soon as possible.

The group coordinator this year is Elya (RT’s produce manager).  If you have any questions, please feel free to email – elya.m@risingtide.coop – or call.  Thanks for participating!

Friday, December 2nd from 3:00-6:00pm

The Maine Coast Book Shop will be hosting a book signing
and Wine and Cheese Tasting with Janice Spaulding,  author of Goat School: A Master Class in Caprine Care and Cooking.

Janice and her husband Ken run Stony Knolls Farm in St Albans Maine and founded the nationally recognized Goat School program.   This will be a great opportunity to learn about goats, cheese and soap making,  Janice will provide a sampling of goat cheese and soap, and the Rising Tide will offer a tasting of complimentary wines.

Goat School is part manual,  part cookbook, perfect for homesteaders or families looking to own goats for fun or function.  It’s also a perfect how-to guide for starting a small goat based business.  Packed with insider information on everything from breeding to milking,
courtesy of the operators of the only goat school in the country, this book also features more than 100 recipes using goat milk, meat, and cheese. Goat ownership has never been easier thanks to this one-of-a-kind resource for the caprine curious.
